Privacy Policy

Motorsports Meetup ("the app") is run by GBPN LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Contact us at eric@gbpn.com with any question.

What we collect

Account. Your mobile phone number, to sign you in with a text message code. Other people never see it.

Profile. Your username, display name, bio, social media handles, profile photo and home city. These are public.

Location. If you allow it, the app uses your phone's location to show events near you. We use it for the search and do not keep a history of where you have been. Your home city is saved on your profile, and other people see only the city name.

Content you add. Cars (make, model, mods, power numbers), photos, videos, video links, posts, captions, comments, chat messages, events you host, reviews, and reports. We remove location data (EXIF) from photos before we store them.

Activity. Events you are going to, interested in or saved, the people and clubs you follow, likes, blocks, and your notification settings.

Usage and device data. Screens you open and actions you take in the app (for example "opened an event" or "posted a photo"), with times, your phone model, operating system version and app version. We use this to understand how the app is used and to fix problems. It does not include the text of your messages or captions.

Push notification token. If you turn on alerts, a token that lets us send notifications to your phone.

How we use it

To run the app: sign you in, show events near you, show your profile, posts and cars, and deliver chats and notifications.
To keep people safe: check new content for rule violations, review reports, and stop spam and abuse.
To improve the app: count how many people use which features and find bugs.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not show ads and do not share your data for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers that help us run the app, and only for that purpose:

Twilio, to send sign-in codes by text message.
Laravel Cloud and Amazon Web Services, which host our servers and database.
Cloudflare, which stores photos and videos.
Google (Places), to find addresses and places when you search or create an event.
Anthropic, to check new content for rule violations and to read public event listings.
Expo, Apple and Google, to deliver push notifications.
The US National Weather Service receives only an event's location, to get the forecast.

Content you make public (profile, cars, posts, events, comments, chat messages in public event chats) can be seen by other users. We may also share data if the law requires it or to protect the safety of people.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. Usage data is deleted after 13 months. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data as described on Delete your account.

Your choices

Edit or remove your profile details, cars, posts and comments in the app at any time.
Turn off location or notifications in your phone's settings, or choose which notifications you get in the app.
Block people, and report content or people.
Delete your account in the app (Profile → ••• → Delete account), or ask us by email.
Ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it, by email.

Children

The app is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We protect data in transit with HTTPS and limit who can access it. No service is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that data will never be exposed.

Changes

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For big changes, we tell you in the app.
